bump diary

From 19 weeks to 21 weeks.

It changes every day, and looks bigger and smaller in different clothes. But there's no denying it now...there is definitely a baby in there. I'm still desperate to show it off at any opportunity, hence some stereotypical "pregnant woman" poses! And notice that I can't resist wearing leggings now, I feel like such a pregnant woman in them!

baby on board!

Since getting pregnant we've been singing "baby on board" around the house, in the style of the barber-shop quartet on The Simpsons. Which inspired me to ask my craft bud Sarah to make me a badge with this very slogan. It's amazing, and my photo does it very little justice. I'm going to proudly wear it every day for the next 4 months!

thank you Sarah! She has a wonderful etsy shop called magasin

Now I just need to think of other maternity accessories to make and buy!

kitted out for yoga!

I start pregnancy yoga next Wednesday, and I suddenly realised today that I have nothing to wear for such an occassion. I rarely wear trousers and when I do they're jeans, so I had to go and shop for some more sensible leg-wear. I've never worn leggings in my adult life, I think they're just tights with no feet, but it seems that the rounder I get the less I mind about looking silly. It's a lovely feeling! So I've got my first ever pair of grown up leggings. And a gross baggy tshirt. But I feel great in it because I LOVE my bump so much! It makes every outfit a million times better.

I knew that I was going to love growing a bump, but it's surpassed all expectations...I love that instead of worrying about "looking fat" in things, I want to show my belly in all it's glory.

Maybe I'll change my tune in a month or two when I struggle to waddle around

We looked at prams in Mama's and Papa's, and tiny clothes at Baby Gap, yesterday. So exciting!

girl power

liddle

It's a girl!

I would have been just as happy saying it's a boy, but it feels so nice to know. One step closer to it being real.

chocoholic

I'm 19 weeks and 6 days.

Any fans of partridge will know that chocolate addiction is a serious illness. I'm an addict. I honestly cannot resist the call of the good stuff. And with every bite I feel guilty that it contains very little goodness for baby. I should add that I've not always been this way, it's an unfortunate side effect of my pregnancy. I'm obsessed with eating lots of good stuff to cancel it out, but that just means that I end up eating loads. I'm gonna be such a fatty!

In the name of pregnancy health I've been looking into pregnancy yoga. It's supposed to be really helpful for all the aches and pains, and the breathing can help with childbirth. I borrowed a book from work but I'm struggling to learn the moves without stopping halfway through a stretch to look at the pictures. I've also signed up for a class but have to wait for someone to pop for a space for me.

Tomorrow is our 20 week scan. SO EXCITED.
